You surely remember Kellan Lutz, also known as Emmett Cullen in Twilight 🌙. But behind his rock-solid abs and Hollywood smile, there is a real soft heart… especially when it comes to animals. 💚
🌾 From Farm to Big Screen
Before shining in Hollywood, Kellan grew up in the Midwest, surrounded by nature and animals. He often shares that he felt lonely, so his true friends… were his cats, his hens, and even the cows from the family farm! In short, a true little “animal whisperer” 🐓🐱🐄.
No wonder he was chosen to portray Tarzan in an animated film. For him, this wild hero is timeless: “All boys have crossed paths with Tarzan at some point, in a movie or in a book. He was one of my favorites.”
🦍 An Actor Committed to Animal Welfare
His role as Tarzan didn’t stop at the screen. Kellan took the opportunity to support Ape Action Africa, an organization that protects endangered primates in Cameroon.
He explains:
“We are trying to stop the hunting of monkeys for their meat. It’s considered a rare delicacy, but it’s cruel. The young ones are then sold as pets and die without their mothers. We also fight against the deforestation linked to this.”
And it’s not just to look good in front of the cameras. Kellan has always been clear:
“I don’t think people should wear fur. I don’t wear it. I stand up for any animal that is mistreated.”
🎬 From Twilight to Expendables
If you mainly know him for his role as Emmett in Twilight, know that it wasn’t all planned! Originally, Kellan was studying… chemistry 🧪! But after being spotted as a model, the doors of Hollywood opened.
The result: after Immortals, The Legend of Hercules, and of course Twilight, he joined the all testosterone cast of The Expendables 3 alongside Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Imagine the atmosphere on set 😱🔥!
Yet, Kellan keeps his feet on the ground. Away from the red carpets, he prefers hiking, camping, and even skydiving. Not very bling-bling for a star, and that’s surely what makes him so charming.
