You probably remember Kellan Lutz, aka Emmett Cullen in the Twilight saga. Well, the 40-year-old actor is back with a new action movie, Desert Dawn. And guess what? At a fan expo in Chicago, he also revealed why he turned down… auditioning for the iconic role of Edward Cullen! 😱
☀️ “I wasn’t in the right state of mind”
When Hollywood offered him the audition to play Edward, Kellan had just come out of seven months of intense filming in Africa for the series Generation Kill. An experience marked by war, destruction, and being away from his loved ones.
“I wasn’t in the best state of mind. I just wanted peace and joy in my life,” he confided.
“And when I was told I would have to play this dark role over several films, I thought: no thanks, that’s not for me.

“Everyone thinks he’s going to play the bad guy again, but no. He is my partner, my right-hand man. We argue, but there’s a lot of respect,” Kellan explains.

“We wanted to show the truth about these issues, without glorifying anything,” he explains.
